Gather
Group of people working together

Gather

To gain insights we first need to gather data. The easiest place to start is within the product.

For example:
  • Measure pNPS, CES and CSAT with InMoment to understand how well your product meets customer and user needs and how happy they are with the product
  • Track behavioural data and usage with Snowplow to gain an even deeper understanding of user behavior in your product
  • Engage your customers and users through user interviews and other methods to better understand the users’ needs, wishes and expectations
Utilize
Group of people working together

Utilize

Once you have new insights in place, it is time to put them to good use.

For example:
  • Integrate insights into the product development process. Use the insights as input in your sprint planning (and make sure to follow up on the outcome in the sprint retrospective!)
  • Run an experiment such as a Design Sprint to quickly validate hypotheses with users
  • Inform product strategy with insights based on user behaviour and arguments grounded in data
Lead

Lead

Once you have gotten started, it is time to build a habit.

We know that insights-driven teams build better products. Make a habit of continuous discovery in order to improve the product long-term and get closer to achieving the vision for your product.

Not only does it provide teams with clear focus, but above all it makes sure that teams deliver value to their customers and users, instead of chasing vanity metrics.
