The product mission states what you are trying to achieve, while the vision describes what the world looks like when you have achieved it. A compelling product vision is not just inspiring and empowering but also directional. The vision and mission need to be rooted in a deep understanding of the business, customers and market.

  • A Product Vision Sprint consists of preparation work done by the team and a one day workshop.
  • The goal of the preparation work is for the team to gather knowledge about the current state of the company and product, which will be used when defining the new vision, mission and strategic narrative.
  • During the one day workshop, the team works together to come up with the new vision, mission and strategic narrative, which are the main outcomes of the workshop.
  • Having a clear vision, mission and strategic narrative helps teams to create a meaningful product strategy, prioritise initiatives and work towards a common goal.

The Product Vision Sprint helps teams define their product vision, mission and strategic narrative, which in turn helps them create a meaningful product strategy and work towards a common goal.

This framework helps product teams address crucial inquiries, such as: How can we improve the value delivered to customers while increasing revenue? Which individuals do you think have opinions that would contribute to an interesting discussion? In addition, we also recommend doing 5 customer interviews using the strategic narrative framework. We recommend using our Mural template which contains all the recommended exercises and needed templates in chronological order.
